In this review I am covering Foobar- my media player of choice.
The main reasons I use Foobar is its speed (Very fast open and close, and low memory consumption), the vast amount of plugins available, and its large customisation abilities.
Foobar will play so many formats (especially with plugins) that it will take far too long to list them all. It will play all the standards (mp3 ect) and will also play those pesky i-tunes copy-protected files.
Not only can it play music- it can convert anything it can play to most formats (you have to have some extra files to do it- but they are easy to get).
It will rip and play C.D's, and can lookup for the artist information via the net.
When you first install Foobar- it comes up with a window like this:
So you decide which one you want (You can change it later via the same menu)
My Foobar Looks like this:
I changed a fair bit around from the default layout
As you can see- it's easy to edit each component (after switching it to layout editing mode).
I also like it's inbuilt EQ
As you can see- it's a pretty powerful EQ
It has pleanty of effects for your music
I am using a VST Bridge- so i can use VST effects on my music.
All in all- Foobar is a good little audio player
I rate it 10/10
